How Joomla! Updater works?

1. You register an account, add one profile for each Joomla site.
2. Install Joomla Updater client from Joomla Updater website or from your Joomla Backend. It's up to you. Both methods are fine.
3. From Joomla Updater client, you can update your Joomla core, install/update extension. NO REGISTER / NO DOWNLOAD.

Cons:

• Encrypted FTP/MySQL information. You do not need to worry about security problem.
• Joomla Updater DOES NOT touch Joomla core files, DOES NOT touch any Joomla Extensions.
• Joomla Updater makes the patch file (to update an extension to a newer version) AUTOMATICALLY, so: no manual mistake, no virus.
• Joomla Updater makes a backup before doing anything. So you can restore to previous version if you want.
